Love

We often assume transformation begins with correction. Jesus showed us a different way.

Before He told the woman who was experiencing shame, “Go and sin no more,” He first protected her from condemnation. He created a place of safety before calling her toward change. The order matters.

Truth without love can deepen shame. But love creates the safety needed for truth to be heard and received. Scripture reminds us that “the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance.”

Repentance grows more naturally from experiencing God’s kindness than from living under fear or condemnation.

Whether we are serving as leaders, parents, friends, or caregivers, people do not simply need us to be right. They need to know they are safe with us. They need to experience love and acceptance before they can fully receive correction or challenge.

Love first. Safety first. Then truth.

When truth is offered within the context of love, it can do what it was always intended to do, not merely expose what is wrong, but lead us toward healing, growth, and transformation.
